Hi guys, I’m Kelly and this is a quick introduction to me and my blog.  I’m British and living in America after marrying an awesome guy in the Air Force, this blog kind of documents my journey as a Military spouse as well as my sudden surge of unexpected creativity.    When we got orders to leave England I was super excited, my mind was full of all the possibilities for travel and experiencing a different culture, what I found happened was……boredom!  Yep, you heard me, within a week of moving to America, hubby had started back at work (on night shifts), I had an accident with a kitchen knife and my finger which would prove to be a complete pain in more than one sense, I couldn’t drive or take my driving test due to said accident, therefore I couldn’t work for the first time in many, many years.  On top of this I am a serious introvert, I mean I hate meeting and talking to people I don’t know, all of this combined made me feel very bored, and very nervous.

A few weeks after the move and our household goods were delivered, damaged. It was at this time I decided to paint my first piece of furniture to try to disguise the damage, and the rest as they say, is history.  I’ve since discovered a passion for anything creative whether that be sewing, cooking (which I’ve always adored) or refurbishing used furniture.  This blog is aimed at helping others out there try, and succeed, in being able to do the same.

4 Thoughts to “Intro”

  1. Hey Kelly, seems like we have a lot in common. Where in America did you move to? My husband is also in the military and we just moved 3,000 miles away from where we’re from. I’m a total introvert as well so it’s hard for me to meet new people. I like to do art and creative DIY type things to keep me busy too 🙂

    1. Hi, we’re in Delaware right now, been here for two years already so you know what will be happening soon 🙂 It took quite a while but I now have a couple of really good friends here. I was lucky to get a job a couple of months after getting here but I would much rather be painting furniture full time lol and I guess that is something that I can take with me where ever we end up next, would love to see some pictures of your crafty stuff 🙂

      1. Oh I’m so glad you ended up liking it and making friends there! Painting furniture is definitely something you can do wherever you end up getting stationed so that’s a great thing. Maybe I’ll make a post about some of my DIY crafts I do! I hadn’t thought about that. Thanks for the idea! 👍🏼
